Greater Germany

Greater Germany after the Great War, and several minor wars.  Beginning in 1848, a more liberal constitution was adopted, and Frederick William abdicated, leaving Frederick III in charge of Prussia for much longer than our timeline.  This Prussia also managed to unite the various German states, in a much more liberal (in the sense of free press, free speech, etc., but still deeply conservative socially) country with closer ties to the United Kingdom.  This Germany was tentatively involved with Austria in the first Great War, and with its lower culpability, did not lose territory to France at the Treaty of Versailles.  This led France down the path of revanchism, while Austria-Hungary was broken up.  During the 1930s, Austria fell to fascism, and attempted an invasion of Germany, with Czechia as an ally; Germany responded, and Austria fell after a two-year war.  Czechia did not regain what it wanted (German Bohemia and the Sudetenland states from Austria), and Austria was merged with Germany after a larger, second Great War instigated by France, allied with Spain and Italy, with Russia and its proxy, Poland having been promised the eastern half of Germany.  However, the allied powers, beginning with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, soon included its dominions of Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Cuba, Malta, and Gibraltar, the United States and Canada, Denmark, the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, and several other nations around the world.  This world war included the Empire of Japan, and in its aftermath, redrew the map of Europe that stands to this day.  Russia did not gain any warm water ports to the North Sea, China ended up split between North and South, while Korea remained united.  Hong Kong and Kiautschou Bay remain integral parts of their respective nations, the UK and Germany.
